hello to all dear friends here on dA
i hope your new year has started out well.. you are all in good health and filled with creative ideas!
i have been on dA for quite a while now - in fact dA was the first art community i ever joined. it was very confusing to me and it felt a bit strange. i started out with digital art, here on dA; there was - and still is - a lot of experimenting .. i did digital paintings and photo manipulations.. then i re-discovered my love for photography and included that.. next big discovery were fractals. a new world opened up to me! so much fun to work with them. but i got bored after a while and started to make fractal manipulations, i.e. mixing fractals with.. whatever, textures, photos etc. ah.. and creating textures .. i love doing that ! so i have another profile here with only textures, backgrounds, stockphotography - i have neglected that, have a blog outside dA, where i upload textures for fellow-artists to use - for free of course.
and then, an outside-dA friend encouraged me to re-start with traditional art. i was very reluctant at first. but she is a bit pushy and kind of .. yeah .. pushed me into it. so i took it up again.. i tried acrylics, which i dont like very much, but i had been working with gouache before and i started using it again. and love it.. gouache def is my favorite medium.. followed by india ink, ink in general, pastel pencils, wax crayons.. and acrylics are way in the back. still i use them on and off, like them for my very abstract art, because you can create great textures with this thick and fast drying paint.
well to make a long story short. i just want to thank you all for staying with me. for accepting my different ways of expressing myself and for being part of my artistic journey.
namaste friends! peace and love to all
mimu
